As an Art Department Coordinator, I was the coordinator between department and accounting, responsible for managing schedules, managing multiple budgets and financial records, office management, assisting the Production Designer, overseeing payroll and employment paperwork, collaborating with outside contractors and vendors, and supporting all areas within the department (Graphics, Props, Scenics, etc...).
I worked very closely with a Production designer in Los Angeles, CA. His name is Michael Fitzgerald. I was his Art Director, Art Department Coordinator, and just overall assistant for many years. I grew up in this industry, it is all I know.
